I have over 30 years teaching and research experience, with 21 published papers that have been quoted over ten citations.

1997 – To date : Job Title: Associate Professor

Reporting to: Dean Faculty of Agriculture, University of

Khartoum

Reporting to me: Teaching assistants and Technicians

In the Department of Food Science and Technology.

Main functions & Responsibilities:

1. Lecturing (Food Engineering, Sugar Technology, Food Preservation & processing, Processing of Animal products e.g. Milk and Meat)

2. Supervising graduation projects and post graduate students in the field of Food Technology.

3. Conducting research for improvement of processing techniques for local fruits and vegetables, meat and dairy products.

4. Training of University graduates and technicians working in food processing plants.

1989 – 1997 : Job Title: Assistant Professor

Reporting to: Dean Faculty of Engineering, University

of Gezira.

Reporting to me: Teaching assistants and Technicians

in the Department of Food Science & Technology.

Main functions & Responsibilities:

1. Lecturing (Food Engineering, Sugar Technology, Food Preservation & Processing, Processing of Animal Products e.g. Milk and Meat).

2. Conduct research on different fields of Food Technology

3. Evaluation of Food Processing factories and giving suggestions for improving production capacity and quality of processed products.

4. Supervision of different researches i.e. Research projects of final year students, Master and Ph.D

5. Establishment of a Small-Scale Industries Develop-ment Centre (SSIDC) at the University of Gezira. The Centre offers the following services to the Small-Scale Industries (SSI) sector: Technical and management training, applied research, Information and documentation, Consultancy and extension and dialogues about general policy and the issues pertaining to SSI problems.

1986 – 1989 : Job Title: Research Scientist.

Reporting to: Director of Food Processing Research

Centre (FPRC).

Reporting to me: Research assistants and technicians

in the Department of Fruits and vegetables processing.

Main functions & Responsibilities:

1. Conducting research in the field of fruits and vege-

tables processing.

2. Training of research assistants and fresh University graduates.

3. Supervision of different researches i.e. Research projects in the field of food processing, graduation projects and Masters.

4. Help to promote the small-scale food processing projects in rural areas.

1974 – 1976 : Job Title: Research Assistant.

Reporting to: Head Department of Food Canning.

Reporting to me: Technicians and workers in the

Department.

Main functions & Responsibilities:

1. Help research scientists in conducting research in the

Field of fruits and vegetables processing.

2. Training of technicians and workers on the theore- tical issues of food processing.

3. Visiting (of own interest) some small-scale food processing enterprises and learning and discussing with them their problems.
