Research

Research projects supported by King Abdulaziz City for science and Technology.

  1. Production of feed from date palm leaves and poultry manure in cooperation with Korean High Institute of Science and Technology.
  2. Processing of dates and production of new products on the pilot scale. In cooperation with Date Research Center.
  3. Post harvest losses of wheat and barley in the kingdom.
  4. Effect of continuous growing of wheat on its productivity and quality.
  5. Effect of handling, transportation and storage on the food items under the kingdom conditions.

–           Quality studies on the oil seeds grown in the Al-Hassa area.

–           Effect of nitrogen fertilizer and planting date on growth productivity and quality of wheat.

Projects supported by the date palm research committee

–           Production of jam from dates.

–           Extraction of date dibs and its utilization in bakery products.

–           Utilization of date dibs as sweetener in dairy products and the quality of six date cultivars.

–           The use of microwave oven in the production of date dibs.

–           Effect of drainage water on the seed germination and seedlings growth.

–           Effect of water from different sources on the rheological properties of wheat flour and on the quality of bread.
