Contribution to the University

In my capacity as a Head of the Department in January 1995 I joined the Deputy Vice-chancellor in a mission to Port Sudan concerning the University call. The most significant outcome from the mission was: 10,000 square meters at Port Sudan Duty Free Area in response to the University call; 5,000 square meters for erection of the new Suakin Marine Laboratory and 10 first class pieces of land for future settlement of the laboratory staff at Suakin.

I drafted an articulated proposal to the Ex-Vice Chancellor (Prof. E. B. Taha) that led to adoption of Distance learning and the Intermediate Diploma by the University.

Initiated the idea of the well-established social fund for the employee of the Faculty of Science.

Contribution to the Sudan Institute for Natural Sciences:

Being the Deputy Director, Sudan Institute for Natural Sciences, Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Since 1997, I managed to:

1- Secure 50000 square meters for the erection of the Institute.

2- Get a significant contribution from the Ministry of Defense to dig an         artesian well in the allocated land.

3- Secure 20000 square meters for the erection of a Coastal Environmental Research Centre at Port Sudan.

4- Organize and coordinate a number of academic activities in collaboration with a number of universities.
