1.A grant of 5000 Sudanese pounds by the University of Khartoum for a project of: Blood and tissue cytokine levels in patients with rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease. July 2010.

  1. Advocacy Grant: by the Pan African Soc of Cardiology to the Sudanese Children’s Heart Soc (2000 USD)

3.A grant of 9000 USD was given by the Ministry of Higher Eduaction for a project: Sudan Hand Held Echo Study (SHES) in August 2015.This project started in Sep 2015 and phase 1 completed in Fenruary 2016. Echo screening of 3000 school pupils in Khartoum inner city showed that rheumatic heart disease prevalence is 3 per 1000 (in 1992 it was 11 per 1000) so the second phase will be carried in South Darfur where a pilot study showed a frequency of 23 per 1000.

  1. A grant of 10 000 USD from the World Health Organization – Sudan to the Sudanese Children’s Heart Society in 2017 for training of Medical Assistants in Rheumatic Heart Disease.
