As an Associate (since 11/1996) and an Assistant Professor (4/86-10/1996) at the Department of Horticulture, University of Khartoum:-
Responsible for teaching and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students, conducting research, participating in the university committees and public activities and giving public lectures and talks.

1997 – 2008 As a Lecturer at King Saud University, (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia),
taught and tutored postgraduate and undergraduate students in lab. courses covering:
– Greenhouse Production of Floricultural Crops
– Nurseries and Plant Propagation
– Turfgrasses Production and Management
– Landscape Design of Parks and Gardens
– Interior Plants and Interiorscaping
Conducted research in many research areas such as:
– Investigating means and methods for advancing and utilizing national parks
– Studies on converting date palm leaves to a growing medium (compost) to substitute for peat moss
– Studies on turf grasses suitable for Riyadh, KSA.
Participated in college and department committees and activities covering different areas such as supervising greenhouses and growth chambers, designing and conducting flower shows representing King Saud University.
Designed and supervised all the new landscaping work in the Student Housing (Dorms) of King Saud University.
1980 – 1986 As a Graduate Student at Cornell University (USA),
– Participated, as a TA, in teaching Flor 425 “Greenhouse Management” (for three years) which included close work with students and complete analysis for real greenhouse operations ( crops, structures, environmental control; materials handling and business analysis ) along with recommendations for improvement.
– Visited the most important Greenhouse Operations and F&OH production areas in U.S.A. and Canada.
– Attended and participated in several horticultural meetings.
1976 – 1979 As a As a Teaching Assistant at University of Khartoum,
Taught and tutored undergraduate students in lab. Courses covering vegetable crop production, pomology, and post-harvest physiology of horticultural products.
Gained experience in supervising farmers and solving administrative and field related problems.
