As a consultant in acute medicine, I carried out the managerial role of monitoring the firm together with two other colleagues to ensure excellent delivery of patients’ care and adequate communication with GPs.

· Ensuring that clinic letters and discharge summaries are completed in a timely fashion and those general practitioners are kept

informed of significant changes in patient care.

· Maintaining high standards in report writing and progress notes.

· Discussed with colleagues current procedures and assisted in laying out policies of department.

· Supervising, guiding and encouraging junior colleagues.

· Managing and upgrading the development of guidelines for operation and procedures for all the acute medical emergencies.

· Consultant’s managerial role in leading the team.

· Good experience organising clinical meetings and events, as I was responsible for the organisation of the Oxford Deanery’s SpR

monthly teaching sessions. Other associated administrative tasks in relation to teaching activities. It involves all the medical and

specialist registrars in the region.
