I have participated in the regular case conferences and audit meetings of the Trust and I have had the pleasure of presenting two case conferences and I have provided support in teaching and supervision for the juniors in ECT.
During this period I have compiled no less than six medico-legal reports and provided support to the County Court
Teaching Experiences:-
– I was heavily involved in teaching and supervising medical students, psychiatric trainees, and senior psychiatric and health workers in UK in the two major psychiatric training schemes above mentioned (All Blham rotation scheme and North trent psychiatric training scheme) , this reflected in the following examples.
– I/ I was lead teacher and psychiatric trainer to All Blham psychiatric scheme and Blham medical school in years between 2002-2005.
– II/ I became Assistant professor at ST Georges’s University in Trinidad, as I was a senior organizer and trainer to their medical students, joining Russell Hall Hospitals, 2002-2005.
-I regularly supervised medical students and junior trainees as a registrar in All Blham training scheme between sep 1990-1995. Also participated regularly in the weekly case conferences, journal clubs, and master course regular in both schemes.
– I regularly presented lectures courses for the MRCPsych part 1 & part II candidates in the West Midlands training scheme years 1996-2006.
– I became the main presenter of the neuropsychiatry teaching in North Trent part II candidates 2000-2001 and principal teacher for Dudley & Worcestershire training scheme in years 2002-2005.
– I became Personal development and Continued medical education organizer at Dudley primary care group ,and presented lectures in training trainers courses .s
– I presented regular public lectures in Blham community centers, in health and psychiatric issues related to children upbringing in a multicultural Western Societies, the extend & complications of drug misuse in the Arabic & Islamic Youths, motherhood problems and clash of civilizations .
– Since the beginning 1991-2005 I participated and ran regular Audits to my psychiatric unit &services covering many issues, eg. The use of poly pharmacy in psychiatry, GPs referral letters, psychiatric case notes, validity of psychiatric of psychiatric diagnosis, Patient’s views in the psychiatric services provision, readmissions rates & reasons, reasons of admissions for alcohol & drug misuse patients, ECT titrations, serious events in psychiatric service and assessment of discharge summaries ect.
Organizational & Leadership Participation:-
– I was executive member to the Sudanese medical Islamic association 1988-1990.
– I became the chair person to the overseas psychiatric trainees in 1992-1993.
– I was honored to have participated in the executive committees in the following organization: Sudanese National committee’s international conference for Sudanese expatriate doctors in London Oct 1996, Birmingham and Sheffield Sudanese Society.
– British Arab Psychiatric Association 2003-2004.
– Middle grade doctors committee Walsall Hospital.
– I was the Lead investigator of the research group in Dudley psychiatric service representing the Balance study 2003-2005.
