1979 – 81 -Field Inspector, Plant Protection Department, Ministry of Agriculture, Sudan. Carried out field surveys, and supervised national and local pest control campaigns.
1981 – 83 Teaching Assistant, Faculty of Agricultural Studies, Sudan University for Sciences and Technology.
1983 -88 Teaching Assistant, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Khartoum.
As a teaching assistant, the following practical laboratory and field courses were taught and demonstrated for both divisions of crop protection and botany:
– Insect physiology and anatomy
– Insect classification and taxonomy
– Insects of economic importance
– Plant pathology (bacteria, fungi, viruses and nematodes)
– Agricultural zoology
– Pesticides application ad sprayers calibration

1998 – to date:
Associate professor, Crop Protection Division, Faculty of
Agriculture, University of Khartoum. Responsibilities include lecturing, conducting research and academic supervision of undergraduates research projects, M.Sc. and Ph. D. theses at different universities all over the country.
