EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA 2012 – 2014

    MBA with Distinction, Finance

University of Medical Sciences & Technology

  • PhD 2004 – 2009

PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering under the title: 'Dynamic Load Balancing in Parallel Algorithms using MPI'.

    University of Khartoum Sudan

  • MSc. 2001 – 2002

MSc. (Distinction) Computer Architecture & Networks (CGPA 7.49). Thesis Entitled 'Neural Networks & their Parallel Implementation'. I had to practically implement a neural network that would train using the Back-Propagation algorithm. Usually training a neural network is a time consuming process, so the training process was distributed and paralleled among 4 CPUs instead of one using MPI (Message Passing Interface). The thesis was completed successfully with excellent results. Taught Course Subjects Signals and Systems Analysis, Advanced Digital Signals Design, Computer Systems Design, Object Oriented Programming Using C++, Operating Systems Engineering, Data Communication Networks, Computer Architecture, Analogue Integrated Circuits, High-Performance Networking, Selected Topics in Communication, Digital Signal Processing, Human-Computer Interface Engineering (Human Computer Interaction).

    University of Khartoum Sudan

  • BEng. (Hon. 1996 – 1999

BEng. (Hon.) Electronic Engineering (2:1). Year 3 Final Year Project A software image-processing project entitled 'Colour Image Filter'. As one of a team of 2 working on a 30-week project, I had to design and implement a series of colour image filters, using the Ada programming language. The project was completed successfully with excellent results. Honors Subjects Digital Systems (Digital Systems & VHDL) and Video Engineering (Video Engineering & Image Processing), Control Engineering and Power Electronics, Integrated Circuit Evaluation, Data Networks, Programming in C++, Digital Signal Processing, Topics in Electronic Engineering (Algorithms, Computation, Audio Engineering and Waveguides & Antennas). Non-Technical Subjects: Management and Business Studies (Law & Business Management, Man Management & Industrial Seminars and Economic & Financial Systems). Year 2 Second Year Project Both a hardware and software project entitled 'Computer Voltmeter'. As one of a team of 2 working on a 20-week project, I had to design and produce a hardware device that would measure voltage differences and send the results to a computer, from which a program written in Modula-2 reads the results and displays them on the computer screen. The project was completed successfully with excellent results. Subjects Engineering Mathematics, Control and Measurement, Electronic Devices and Circuit Design, Field Theory and Telecommunications, Integrated Circuit Design, Embedded Systems. Year 1 First Year Project A completely hardware project entitled 'Anemometer'. As one of a team of 2 working on a 10-week project, I had to design and produce a hardware device that would measure the speed of wind and display the results on two LED displays. The project was completed successfully with excellent results. Subjects Introduction to Computer Systems, Systems and Circuits, Imperative Programming, Engineering Mathematics, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
