More than 12 students obtained M.Sc and Ph.D.under his supervision in the last 15 years.He published a book in fluid mechanics addressing core subjects of fluid mechanics and numerical techniques to solve non-linear equations and large matrices of variable elements for pipe networks.

He published many papers in reputed and refereed scientific journals and conferences in addition to generation and development of the osman –thorn model. Prof Akode also worked as an editor for many conferences proceedings.

Prof Akode is currently carrying out research works in the areas of river bank erosion, river training works,reservoir sedimentation and local scour related to hydraulic structures in addition to seepage control through earth fill dams.
