This Study aims to observe and put hands on the way city residents think of the best interaction between both nature and manmade elements , and how they can elucidate their dreams city and preferred setting, which we originally assumed that settings (Gestalt) and experience ( World of life)to trace people memories and draw cities imagibility in people’s minds. This research hypothesized that the best way to empower the places identities and sustain the planet healthy for all of us is by designing in respect to the heritage of the place, whether it is natural characteristics or its artifacts. The study handled through literature review and personal interviews with the residents of Nottingham city, so that we can evaluate how they feel, consider and appreciate the presence of thenaturalelementsintheirlife,andhowtheseelementscanshapetheirwayoflivingorimprove their well –being and quality of life. This evaluation developed in three levels, firstly through their living habits and relation to nature, secondly in association to the public gardens and their appraisement, activities and supposed activities to take place. Finally establishing an evaluation to Nottingham city and carryout a comparison between Nottingham city, Granada city and the participants dream city. | Thesis Summary | DesignforatransportationhubinWadihalfa,includesthreemodesoftransportations;ferry,train and buses. The idea is to transport people between different states of Sudan and south Egypt ‘’Aswan’’ and to exchange with different transportationmodes.
The site location was align to the river Nile to serve with the ferry station which ship travellers from- to Aswan-halfa .furthermore convey people between the train station and bus station. The design was consist of great hall to merge and exchange departures and arrivals of different stations. Also the ferry station has departure and arrival halls. Beside the amenities of shopping area, restaurants and hotel rooms, parking facilities and outdoor landscape. The form was illustrated from the natural lines (straight and curved) to create different character for each station merging in central core of the main hall. |
