Teaching Activities:

  1. For the 1’st year medical students/ U of K:
  2. Run tutorials and small group discussions in the following Physiology Courses:

i.            Body Fluids.

ii.            Autonomic Nervous System.

iii.            Temperature.

iv.            Haematology.

  1. Conduct the following practicals among others:

i.            Units and Concentrations, Osmolarity Calculation.

ii.            Environmental Temperature, Instrumental Measurement of            Corrected Effective Temperature.

iii.            Laboratory Evaluation of haematological parameters in a series of practicals (including: Hb, PCV, RBC indices, RBC Fragility test, RBC counting, WBC counting- total & differential, Platelet counting, ESR, Blood Grouping, Bleeding Time & Coagulation Time).

  1. For the 2’nd year medical students/ U of K:
  2. Run tutorials and small group discussions in the following                  Physiology Courses:

i.            CVS.

ii.            Respiratory System.

iii.            GIT Physiology.

  1. Conduct the following practicals among others

iv.            Clinical Examination of the CVS & the Respiratory System.

v.            ECG; Recording and Analysis.

vi.            The Cardiac Cycle Power Lab Demonstration.

vii.            Frog Heart Experiments Power Lab Demonstration.

viii.            Mammalian Heart Experiments Power Lab Demonstration.

ix.            Pulmonary Function Tests (including: assessment of lung volumes and capacities using Benedict Roth Spirometer, Vitalograph Spirometry, EPF using Peak-Flow-Meter, ABG using pulse oxymeter).

  1. For the 3’rd year medical students/ U of K:
  2. Run tutorials and small group discussions in the following                          Physiology Courses:

i.            Renal System.

ii.            CNS.

iii.            Endocrine System.

iv.            Reproductive Physiology.

  1. Conduct the following practicals among others:

i.            Water Dieresis in Man, Experiment ADH affecters.

ii.            Measurement of GFR.

iii.            EEG, Recording and Application.

iv.            Laboratory Urine Examination for hCG (Pregnancy Test).

v.            Clinical Examination of the Nervous System.

vi.            Problem Solving, Clinical Nephrology, Neurology, and Endocrinology.

  1. Faculty of Pharmacology/ U of K; work as cooperator teacher running a variety of physiology practicals related to pharmacology.
  2. Faculty of Dentistry/ U of K; work as cooperator teacher running tutorials on different physiological subjects of dentists’ interest.
  3. Faculty of Medicine/ Sudan collage for Medical Science and Technology; work as cooperator teacher running tutorials in neurophysiology.
