a) Project Title: The Unified Library Management System (LMS) and Digital Library System for Sudanese Universities. Period: 2011 – 2013 Chair of the Steering Committee Iman AbuelMaaly Abdelrahman Goal: The main goal of the project is to implement a library management system and a digital library system for the Sudanese universities base on existing well known open source software. The system to be implemented in three phases starting with three universities. Fund: Total cost is 26000 USD Funded by UNESCO and 50,000 SDG funded by the Sudanese Research and Education Network (SudREN)

Period: 2006 – 2009 Project Manager: Iman Abuel Maaly Abdelrahman And Deputy Project Manager: 2004-2006 Goal: The overall goal of this project was to provide connectivity among the Sudanese educational institutions, increase sharing of knowledge, help universities build their information infrastructure, and extend the value of digital libraries. It was the base for the Sudanese Research and Education Network (SudREN), the NREN of Sudan. www.sudren.edu.sd Fund: total cost is about one Million USD, Funded by the Universal Fund of the National Telecommunication Corporation, Sudan. With support of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Period: 2004 – 2006 Project Manager: Iman Abuel Maaly Abdelrhaman Fund: Total cost is 10,000 USD funded by UNESCO and 10,000 USD funded by the University of Khartoum. This Project is supported by UNESCO in partnership with the Foundation Ecole d’Ingenieurs EPF) through the International Institute of Women in Engineering (IIWE), Australian Virtual Engineering Library (AVEL-SKN), World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO), Sustainable Alternatives Network (SANet) and the Natural Edge Project (TNEP). The project involves the development of ‘Bibliographic Level’ databases including research material and directories of institutions and experts.

The website contains full text of Sudan Engineering Society Journal, Almohandis Bulletin and all publications for the National Engineering Conferences in Sudan.
