  •     The Royal Society Pfizer Award (2007). Recognition of my work on the genetic basis of susceptibility to visceral leishmaniasis in the Sudan. The prize support young African scientist in biomedical field. ₤60,000 fund for the research entitled “Functional Genomic of Visceral leishmaniasis and PKDL in the Sudan”.
  •     WHO Capacity Strengthening Program Grant for Faculty of Science (2005). “Investigation of possible reservoir host in Eastern Sudan “Co-investigator.
  •     University of Khartoum Research Fund for one years (2007) (Genetics and immunological factors determining the severity of P. falciparum infection. (5000 SDG).
  •     Wellcome Trust Research Development Award (2004-2007). Genetics and Functional analysis of SLC11A1 (formerly NRAMP1) polymorphisms in susceptibility to visceral leishmaniasis in the Sudan.  In collaboration with Prof. Blackwell University of Cambridge. UK, (₤90,000) The Award was included (fund for: equipment to the Institute, consumables, visits to Cambridge university 3 months every year for research).
  •    WHO/ TDR Training Fellowship for 8 months (1999) in Cambridge University.
