I was fortunate that during my stay in Edinburgh, I attended several meetings, discussion groups and workshops in which fundamental and applied aspects of biodegradation of environmental contaminants and bioremediation strategies were discussed giving me the opportunity to acquaint myself with the latest modern techniques in this growing fieldof environmental biotechnology.
