WORKSHOPS CONDUCTEED AS INSTRUCTOR

I am sharing my technical experience in the field of Agronomy and natural resources management to contribute in enhancing capacity development of a number of farmers, local communities and technical staff of the agriculture ministries through training and workshop:

  1. Main facilitator: Evaluating Mechanization production of Forage Sorghum in Khartoum State, Sudan.
  2. Main facilitator: Technical package for mechanical production of groundnut under rain fed and irrigated areas, Dal group Company LMT
  3. Main facilitator: Technical package for Rice Seed production, the workshop organized by Arab Organization for Agricultural development. It was attended with 30 participants including Farmers. Researchers and technical staff of states ministries of Agriculture students who are interested to produce Rice Seeds
  4. Main facilitator: Technical package for field crop production, the workshop organized by Bank of Production. It was attended with 35 participants including Farmer. Women and Youth who are interested to invest in agricultural Production.
  5. Main facilitator: Open-path eddy covariance method training workshop, Ethiopian institute for water resources, University of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. 08 – 16 Mar. 2015.
  6. Participation in workshop about National Rice Development Strategy (NRDS) in Sudan; which is a member of Coalition for African Rice Development (Nov. 2019)

I have significantly contributed with different disciplines teams, in training and evaluation of community’s activities as well as preparation of a number of technical progress reports on various projects, submitted to different donors, including:

  1. Name of assignment or project: Mitigate the Effect of El Nino Project for Host and IDP Population in North Darfur State, Sudan

Year: 2022

Location: North Darfur State, Sudan

Client: EU Fund and implemented by COOPI

Main project features: The project aimed to improve and strengthening the local population resilience and Mitigate the effect of El Nino for host and IDP population in North Darfur State

Positions held: Natural resources expertise

Activities performed: defined the methodology to undertake an impact assessment that suits the scope of the consultancy, collecting and analyzing of the data (questionnaires, Focus group discussion, Key informants interviews etc) and writing of report

  1. Name of assignment or project: Evaluation and Impact Assessment of the Sudan Sustainable Natural Resources Management Project (SSNRMP)

Year: 2020

Location: Gezira, Kassala and White Nile States, Sudan

Client: GEF and implemented by MOENRPD

Main project features: The project aimed at raising awareness on sustainability of rangelands, water sustainability supply, forest management and utilization, food security and nutritional status, gender roles, and income generating activities and poverty alleviation.

  1. Name of assignment or project: Adapt for Environment and Climate Resilience in Sudan ADAPT! Project Year: 2020 Location: Gedaref and North Kordofan States, Sudan

Client: UNEP and implemented by MOENRPD

Main project features: conduct a study that establishes the value of the forest sector in Sudan through highlighting a variety of social and economic benefits from wood and NWFPs to the livelihoods of local communities and GDP of the country.

  1. Name of assignment or project: Agriculture and Livestock Value Chain Project (ALIVE) to refugees and host communities in Eastern Sudan

Year: 2017

Location: Kassala and Gadarif states, Sudan

Client: FAO

Main project features: The project aimed at raising awareness about the fodder production and developing skills in its agricultural practical aspects in addition to collect and exchange information for ensuring a maximum benefit for the target group of the participants and extension staff, who want to apply further techniques they are not familiar with.

Positions held: Agronomist expertise

Activities performed: Provide participants with the key knowledge, information, skills and hands-on practical experience on latest agronomical practices for fodder production under irrigation and rain fed agriculture, and technologies for fodder harvesting. In addition to irrigation techniques and water harvesting structures for fodder production

  1. Name of assignment or project: Rehabilitation of Delta Tokar Agricultural Scheme.

Year: 2016

Location: Port Sudan state (Delta Tokar), Sudan

Client: Eastern Sudan Development

Project Main project features: to ensure best management for flooding water and to improve crops productivity in Delta Tokar

Positions held: Agronomist expertise

Activities performed: Training the farmers on the best practical and technologies for field crops production under spate irrigation

  1. Name of assignment or project: Sudan Resilient Inclusive Humanitarian Intervention

Year: 2019

Location: West Darfur and South Kordofan states, Sudan

Client: Swedish Mission Council (SMC) and International Aid Service (IAS)

Main project features: meet the critical humanitarian needs of mainly traumatized host communities, as well as IDPs and returnees in conflict and drought affected areas of Sudan through WASH/IWRM interventions. Just as important to saving lives and providing a much better quality of life, this intervention also want to enhance women’s influence and status, the environment not harmed, but conserved well into the future, and the operation and maintenance of water point solutions continued by newly trained, visionary and innovative women and men of beneficiary communities. Therefore, the expected outcome is that abovementioned have access to sustainable clean water and benefit from improved hygiene and sanitation practices.
