(1976 – 1978)    Veterinary Officer, Ministry of Animal Resources.

This involved working in different Departments and Units and thus exposure to various aspects of the profession viz. Khartoum Veterinary Hospital; The Central Veterinary Research Laboratories at Soba; The Artificial Insemination

Center, Poultry Farm at  Kuku, Khartoum North; Kadaro Export Abattoir.

(1978 – 1981)    Initially a post-graduate holding a competitive British ODA

Scholarship and subsequently employed as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of  Veterinary  Preventive  Medicine  and Public                                   Health, Faculty of Veterinary Science, University of  Khartoum.

(1981 – 1985)   On  study  leave  for   a   Ph.D.  program  in   the Department

of Parasitology, College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia, U SA. { Scholarship  sponsored  by  the  Arab Organization for Agricultural Development, Arab States League}.

(1985 – 1994)   Appointed as an Assistant Professor, Departments of

Veterinary Preventive  Medicine   &  Public Health and Parasitology, Faculty

of Veterinary Science, University of   Khartoum.

(1994 – 1996)  Associate Professor, Department    of  Parasitology, Faculty of

Veterinary  Science,  University of Khartoum.

(1996 -2003)    Seconded   to   the  Department of Microbiology and

Parasitology, College   of   Veterinary   Medicine,  King Faisal University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

(2005 -2009)     Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs.

(2009  to date)  Dean Faculty.
