Biological Evolution is both my life fascination and my professional interest. My previous research experience was on insect evolutionary ecology; I have investigated the evolutionary causes and consequences of the unusual sex ratios observed among certain African butterflies. In addition, i have a general interest in the evolutionary biology of reproduction, including sex ratio theory, sexual conflict and reproductive strategies. My central interest, however, lies in the mysterious selective forces that drive the early evolution of sexual reproduction nearly a billion years ago, as well as those maintaining it ever after, despite its immense two-fold fitness cost.
