RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

  • Project title: Stability of Co-amoxiclav and Ceftriaxone Reconstituted Injectable Solutions
  • Objective: To investigate the effect and its intensity of temperature and light (indoor light) on the stability of reconstituted co-amoxiclav and ceftriaxone injectable solutions (which are widely used in Sudanese paediatric hospitals) in order to use them in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Methodology: method was based on a systematic procedure of the full factorial design to find out the effect of both factors and the interaction between them. The statistical package of the Microsoft Excel® was used to analyse data.

HPLC-UV was used throughout the course of the study as stability-indicating method.

  • Project title: Microfluidics Manufacture of Hydrocortisone Acetate-Loaded Nanovesicles for Ocular Application
  • Objectives: To investigate the influence of different formulation and process parameters on the production of liposomes in the nano-range.
  • Methodology: Liposomes were produced using microfluidics.

The central composite design has been selected to predict the effect of factors on the characteristics of the produced liposomes and the encapsulation efficiency of the drug within the vesicles bilayers. The software statistical package Minitab® was employed to build up the design, analyse data and draw the response surfaces. HPLC-UV was used to determine the amount of the entrapped drug and the physical properties of the manufactured liposomes in terms of size and size distribution were measured using dynamic light scattering (DLS) method.
