Founding member of the African Malaria Network Trust and member 1995-2002. Worked in various subcommittees of the trust
– Institute of Endemic Diseases, University of Khartoum and the two research stations affiliated to the Institute in the villages of Bazoura and Kassab, Gedarif State, Eastern Sudan. Bazoura Centre was a joint project with the community of small villages in the area. The villages contributed funds and built the centre. The Institute provided medical assistants, lab assistants a trained midwife and equipment. The midwife introduced anti-natal services for the first time in the area. Thus in addition of being a research station, Bazoura centre provided badly needed primary health services. After four years the Centre was handed over to the State Ministry of Health. Kassab Centre is mainly a research Centre funded by DNDi and run by the Institute of Endemic Disease.

– Supervision or co-supervision of M Sc, PhD or M.D. theses in the Universities of Khartoum, Amsterdam and Copenhagen.
