(1) Locum SHO Psychiatry, April 1996:
This was with Dr.Martin Marlone in the Arundel Unit at William
Harvey Hospital in Ashford-Kent. This job was for two weeks and
involved caring for in-patients in a General Psychiatric Ward as well
as covering two out-patient clinic services per week in Folkstone and
New-Romney.

Waterlow Unit at Wittington Hospital, Highgate Hill, London N19
My job involved dealing with acutely ill patients presenting to the
Accident & Emergency Department, liaising with other concerned
agencies in the community. In addition my duties included seeing
patients admitted to other wards e.g.: Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics
…etc., to assess their mental states and advice on psychiatric

I worked with Dr.Peter Woodruff in Eillen Skellern Ward at The
Maudsley Hospital, london.
This job was in the intensive care unit of the Maudsley, where
severely disturbed patients are admitted and locked for management. I
looked after a number of very ill and violent patients, prepared reports
for Managers Meetings and Mental Health Act TribunalsHearings. I
attended Tribunals Hearings and liaised with other sector wards and
community teams working for the Maudsley.
(5) Locum Regisrar in Adolescent Psychiatry, December 1996 to January 1997:
This job was for two months in the Adolescent Unit of Prestwich Psychiatric Hospital in Manchester, with Dr.Asha Bhatt, Consultant Adolescent Psychiatrist.
In this Unit I cared for very ill adolescents with a wide range of Mental Disorders, both in-patient and out-patient settings. I participated in all the Unit activities e.g.:journal clubs, case presentations, small groups, reviews, discharges,…etc.. It was a very useful practical experience for me after finishing my Diploma Course in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
