{"id":18,"date":"2023-02-14T10:19:45","date_gmt":"2023-02-14T10:19:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/staffpages.uofk.edu\/sara\/?page_id=18"},"modified":"2023-02-14T10:21:47","modified_gmt":"2023-02-14T10:21:47","slug":"work-experience","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/staffpages.uofk.edu\/sara\/work-experience\/","title":{"rendered":"Work Experience"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>10\/05\/2016 \u2013 CURRENT \u2013 Khartoum, Sudan<\/p>\n<p>-Lecturer at the department of Medical Microbiology, Feb,2020.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Teaching Assistant of Medical Microbiology, 2016-2019.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Preparation of practical requirements in microbiology labs such as;<br \/>\nCulture media, Samples collection &amp; Containers selection, Isolates,<br \/>\nStains preparation, Biochemical tests, Antimicrobial susceptibility<br \/>\ntests, Serological tests, Microscopes &amp; Instruments and SOPs<br \/>\nimplementation in labs.<\/li>\n<li>Teaching all practical sessions for graduate and undergraduate students which includes; Bacteriology, Mycology, Virology, Immunology, Molecular biology and Quality control.<\/li>\n<li>Preparation of practical examination, evaluation of the academic performance and assessment processes of students.<\/li>\n<li>Supervising the practical side of training for undergraduate students by equipping medical convoys from the Faculty of Medical Laboratory Sciences to the rural areas in Sudan to provide the necessary<br \/>\ndiagnostic materials, help in diagnosis of diseases and increase awareness of people about the method of diseases transmission, infection, prevention and control.<\/li>\n<li>Conducting research projects and teaching the applied medical research to help the undergraduate students carry out research branches in different areas of sciences with special concentration on<br \/>\nMicrobiology and related genera. I have had experienced several molecular techniques such as RFLP, PCR, Gel electrophoresis, DNA and RNA extraction (Manual and by different Kit types), immunological<br \/>\ntechniques, all Cultural and antimicrobial susceptibility testing for different organism types.<\/li>\n<li>Carrying out the administrative work in the department such as secretarial work &amp;monitoring inventory of supplies including all requirements for initiation of laboratory work beside other duties<br \/>\nrelated to the department.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Medical Laboratory Technologist<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>National Measles Laboratory, National Public Health Laboratory<\/h3>\n<p>The reference laboratory for diagnosis of Measles, Rubella and Polio viruses infection in community of Sudan. I have mastered several techniques that used for identification of viruses infection such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Receiving,labeling and processing of specimens according to established protocols and policies of the reference lab<\/li>\n<li>Performing Immunological tests: Enzyme Linked Immune-sorbent Assay (Direct &amp; Indirect ELISA methods)<\/li>\n<li>Cell Culture technique for culturing of Polio virus<\/li>\n<li>Molecular techniques: Conventional &amp; Real-time Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR)<\/li>\n<li>RNA extraction methods for viruses (Manual &amp; by kits)<\/li>\n<li>Data entering and result analysis<\/li>\n<li>Bio-sefty protocols and quality control implementation in the reference<\/li>\n<li>Participating in safety and infection control activities<\/li>\n<li>Utilizing the laboratory information system to receive\/send Laboratory specific communications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Medical Laboratory Technologist<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>National Public Health Laboratory<\/p>\n<p>National Public Health Laboratory is the reference laboratory in Sudan. During<br \/>\nthis year I worked as Medical Laboratory Technologist.
