With the companionship of several helpful colleagues I took an active role in 1992, during
\nmy deanship, to build the existing extension of the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of
\nKhartoum, in order to coup with the considerable increase in the numbers of new students.
\n\u2022 I took the initiative as a dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy to invite the WHO consultant, Dr
\nPaul S. Collier, in January\/February 1994 to review our pharmacy curriculum and provide
\nthe necessary advice to integrate clinical pharmacy into a revised version of the curriculum
\nin order to keep up with the international trends in pharmacy education.

\n\u2022 Dr Collier visit was culminated by conducting a two-day workshop (26-27 of January 1994)
\nat the Meridian Hotel addressing the curriculum development with special reference to
\nclinical pharmacy.
\n\u2022 The workshop was attended by about 40 participants from a variety of academic
\nbackgrounds, at which the consultant made a presentation outlining the importance of
\nclinical pharmacy both at the community and hospital settings. An elaborate report entitled:
\n\u201cDevelopment of pharmacy curriculum in Sudan\u201d was received in 13th of June 1994 through
\nthe WHO office of the Eastern Mediterranean Region.
\n\u2022 During my headship of the Department of Pharmacognosy, I invited Prof, David Philipson,
\nhead of the Department of Pharmacognosy, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of London to
