{"id":27,"date":"2022-12-15T11:43:27","date_gmt":"2022-12-15T11:43:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/staffpages.uofk.edu\/hiba-hassan\/?page_id=27"},"modified":"2022-12-15T11:43:27","modified_gmt":"2022-12-15T11:43:27","slug":"work-experience","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/staffpages.uofk.edu\/hiba-hassan\/?page_id=27","title":{"rendered":"Work Experience"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Deputy Dean of Faculty of Engineering, University of Khartoum &#8211; Dec 2019 \u2013<em>Present<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Accomplishments in academic affairs include the following:\n<ul>\n<li>Encouraged and facilitated student engagements in Webinars and short<\/li>\n<li>Set the academic year back on track after a year disruption period due to the revolution followed by the pandemic.<\/li>\n<li>Established distant learning as a solution for staff shortage.<\/li>\n<li>Revised faculty curriculum and proposed modifications that abide to University new policies while fulfilling Sudan Engineering Council<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Accomplishment in managerial affairs:\n<ul>\n<li>Developed a system for asset track and<\/li>\n<li>Developed a system for regular maintenance and strengthened faculty maintenance<\/li>\n<li>Established a well-trained e-learning support team of 5 IT technicians.<\/li>\n<li>Established a faculty of Engineering student association after more than 10 years of<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Accomplishments in alumni and industry outreach:\n<ul>\n<li>Developed ties with several faculty graduates to obtain financial and equipment support for e-learning<\/li>\n<li>Collaborating with CISCO to start CISCO academy in the<\/li>\n<li>Collaborated with several industry sectors to organize career fairs and training opportunities to students.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Head of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department, University of Khartoum\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Feb 2018 \u2013 Dec 2019<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Accomplishments in academic affairs include the following:\n<ul>\n<li>Revising the whole department curriculum and proposing an updated version to the<\/li>\n<li>Encouraged and facilitated student engagements in local and global academic events and facilitating financial support.<\/li>\n<li>Inventing creative solutions for the department staff shortage by encouraging distant learning and signing yearly contracts with qualified instructors.<\/li>\n<li>Close monitoring of the quality and performance of teaching<\/li>\n<li>Reviewed and reformed technical<\/li>\n<li>Introduced new technical program; Diploma in Medical<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with Electricity Transmission Authority to provide training for our<\/li>\n<li>Developed joint research with several entities such as Electricity Transmission Authority and Nile Center.<\/li>\n<li>Successfully negotiated the recruiting 5 new teaching assistants and 5 new<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Acting Head of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department, University of Khartoum\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Nov. 2017 \u2013 Feb. 2018<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Lecturer, University of Khartoum\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong><em>July <\/em><em>2006 \u2013 present<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Courses for Fifth year students:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Multimedia Applications<\/li>\n<li>Artificial Intelligence<\/li>\n<li>Artificial Neural Networks and Fuzzy Logic<\/li>\n<li>Java technology.
