Clinical activities covered  General  Otolaryngology with interest in Rhinology

General Rhinology, Endoscopic sinus surgery .Otology, mastoidectomies, tympanoplasties, stapedectomies .Laryngology, Microlarygoscpoies, Laryngectomies. Endosopy included bronchosopies and oesophagoscopies.  Salivary glands surgery.

Teaching  Activities :

Teaching undergraduates clinical ENT.

Lectures Hair Dye poisoning

Teaching physiology of Hearing and Equilibrium, Smell and Taste.

Teaching postgraduates ( Sudan postgraduate Medical Specialization Board)

candidates, tutorial and clinical training including operative tuition.

Research supervision   of Thesis and dissertations as part of fulfillment for the Fellowship.

Teaching undergraduates clinical E.N.T.

Teaching postgraduates basic sciences and clinical E.N.T. including practical operative tuition.

Research supervision for candidates at different postgraduate levels in the fellowship programs.

Further teaching activities include:

Conducting Yearly Exams for different level Courses.

Lectures to candidates of the Saudi Board in Otolaryngology in the Eastern Province Saudi Arabia.

Lectures to candidates of the Family and Community Medicine Fellowship at KingFaisalUniversity.

Examiner in KFU ORL final Fellowship Exams.

Examiner in Saudi Board final ORL exams.

Clinical activities includes:

Clinical activities covered the full spectrum of the specialty (ORL).

In a very busy referral teaching  hospital with elective and emergency work in a very active and well equipped Otorhinolaryngology department which renders service of excellence for all the out patient referrals and difficult emergencies of the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.

Some of the Ear surgeries especially stapedectomies are done under local Anaesthesia.

Wide experience was gained with Endoscopic Sinus surgery.

Comfortable with laser surgery.

As an Associate Professor in E. N. T., Faculty of Medicine, University of Khartoum, my duties involve:

Three Outpatients clinics per week seeing cases referred at (Cases are referred from other hospitals and from all over the Sudan to the Teaching Hospitals in Khartoum.):

IbnSina Teaching Hospitals.

University of Khartoum E. N. T. Clinic.

Khartoum North Teaching Hospital.

Operating sessions dealing with a wide spectrum of operative procedures, major, medium and minor cases.

Microsurgery at IbnSina Teaching Hospital specially Ear & Larynx, Head & Neck surgery, laryngectomies etc.

Endoscopies Upper Airway, Bronchial and Oesophageal both rigid and fiberoptic.

  • Ward Rounds, Khartoum North and IbnSina Teaching Hospitals.
  •  Training ENT Postgraduate Doctors for specialisation in ENT obtaining the MD Degree.
  • Taking part in Head and Neck Clinic at IbnSina Teaching Hospitals. This is a joint clinic attended by the ENT Surgeons, Plastic Surgeons, Faciomaxillary Surgeons, Neuro-Surgeons, Ophthalmic Surgeons and Oncologists.  This is the only reference clinic in the country for problematic cases, to be seen and operated upon when indicated.  Services are rendered at IbnSina Teaching Hospital
  • Attending and participating in the weekly clinicopathological meeting at Khartoum Teaching Hospital where presentations and discussions of surgical problems are carried out. Most surgeons, final undergraduates and surgical postgraduates’ students attend it
  • Emergency duties: On call cover for Registrars & junior
