My research interests are as varied as my teaching and have broadened over the years.

• January 2014 – till January 2015 a member of a team working on project aims to identify priority areas for development in Al-Beida Governorate, Republic of Yemen. My responsibility includes studying how to Integrating Women into this Development Project in Al-Beida Governorate,Yemen.
• December 2010 – April 2012: A team leader carrying out the first-ever secondary database research on violence against women (VAW) in the north Sudan – the research project sponsored by UNIFEM (UN-Women). I have written the final report which will be published by UN-Womensoon.
• 2007–2010: A member of a team to study the Gender Mainstreaming in Poverty Reduction Strategy for Post Conflict Situation: Case Study: South Darfur State. This project sponsored by DFID andBritish Council in Sudan.
• 2009: Developing gender training materials for Al Gadarif University on Empowering Women Farmers in Rural Areas, sponsored by Switzerland Embassy inSudan
• Prepared a Concept Note: Providing Alternative Energy Resources for Sustainability of Natural Resources – submitted for grant to the European Commission
• Prepared a Concept Note: Promoting Women’s Property Rights for Empowering women and Poverty Reduction in Sudan –submitted for grant to the EuropeanCommission
• I have been supervising the research activities of undergraduate students at Faculty of Developmental and Technological Studies, University ofKhartoum.
• 1994 – Up to present teaching a number of subjects at graduate level and at postgraduatelevel.
