Duties included looking after in-patients, outpatients <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman,times;\">in general haematology clinics and anti-coagulant clinics. Training in Laboratory <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman,times;\">haematology. The Department\u2019s areas of interest were: leukaemia, Myeloma and <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman,times;\">lymphomas. The Department actively Participated in clinical trials of the MRC, United <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman,times;\">Kingdom.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman,times;\"><strong>Registrar in Haematology:<\/strong> (St James&#8217;s University Hospital, Leeds, UK.)<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman,times;\">(01.06.1988 &#8211; 14.06.1989)<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman,times;\">Registrar in haematology: haematology rotational training programme for <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman,times;\">registrars\/senior registrars in Leeds Health Authority District. The training included <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman,times;\">looking after patients in the wards, looking after bone marrow transplant patients and <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman,times;\">haemophiliacs who come routinely or acutely to the Haemophilia Unit. Outpatient duties <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman,times;\">included general haematology and anti-coagulant clinics. On-call duties 1 in 2 rotas. <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman,times;\">Laboratory training covered all aspects of laboratory haematology. Both the haemophilia <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman,times;\">and bone marrow transplant units are the Yorkshire Regional Units. St. James&#8217;s <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman,times;\">University Hospital is the largest Teaching Hospital in the U.K.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman,times;\"><strong>Senior Registrar in Haematology<\/strong>: (Yorkshire Regional Blood Transfusion Centre, Leeds).<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman,times;\">(15.06.1989 &#8211; 31.01.1990)<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman,times;\">Duties included donor sessions, donor queries service plus training in all aspects of blood <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman,times;\">transfusion medicine. This rotation was part of the senior registrars&#8217; rotation in <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman,times;\">haematology in Yorkshire Region.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman,times;\"><strong>Honorary Senior Registrar in Haematology:<\/strong> (Leeds General Infirmary, Leeds, U.K.)<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman,times;\">(01.02.1990 &#8211; 31.03.1991)<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman,times;\">This was part of the senior registrars&#8217; rotational training in Yorkshire Region.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Registrar in Pathology: (Soba University Hospital, Khartoum, Sudan).
