Responsibilities: Working as a part of research team to enhance physical modelling capabilities by coupling centrifuge and numerical techniques. The research focuses on tunnelling beneath buildings which are founded on piled foundations. My role was to develop a computationally efficient numerical model to simulate the structural response of the buildings due to tunnelling. Moreover, to design an interface control system to couple between the geotechnical centrifuge and the developed structural model. This work is funded by The Engineering and Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC) |
