Contributions towards the Development of the Institute of Extra Mural Studies (Now Faculty of Technological and Developmental Studies)<\/h2>\n

The following achievements were made during my tenure as a director of the Institute of Extra Mural Studies in the period from 1994-1999:<\/p>\n

A road (120×5 m) to the north of the Extra Mural Studies building was officially added to it. This was greatly appreciated by the University Administration ( see attached letter).<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Three lecture rooms were built (capacity 80-120 students).<\/li>\n
  2. A library for the students was built (capacity 110 students).<\/li>\n
  3. A two-story building for administration purposes has been established.<\/li>\n
  4. The above buildings were supplied with all necessary equipment i.e. furniture, computers, photocopy machines and audio-visual aids.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    During my tenure as a director of the Institute of Extra Mural Studies, and a dean of the Faculty of Technological and Developmental Studies, the University of Khartoum witnessed a lot of cultural activities such as:<\/p>\n

    1. Public lectures and symposia.<\/li>\n
    2. Workshops in the field of distance education.<\/li>\n
    3. The Twelfth Arkaweet Conference on “Tourism in the Sudan<\/strong>“, organized by the Institute of Extra Mural Studies, University of Khartoum in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Tourism. Arkaweet Hotel, Red Sea State, 12-15 Dec. 1996<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    4. The Thirteenth Arkaweet Conference on “Sudan and its Neighboring Countries: Factors of Stability and Development<\/strong>“, organized by the Faculty of Technological and Developmental Studies, University of Khartoum in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Sharijah Hall, University of Khartoum, 12-15 Feb. 2000<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      During my tenure as a dean of the Faculty of Technological and Developmental Studies, most- if not all – of the intermediate diploma programmes were approved by Khartoum University Senate, in the period from 99-2001.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
