In these two occasions I recorded 7 sessions and a short interview. They were all broadcast and captured all over Western Africa and the Middle East.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">In 1993 I initiated and introduced the Hausa programme in the National Radio of Omdurman (Sudan); the programme continued under my supervision until when it stopped in 1995. I used to write a programme of 10 minutes duration to this radio every week.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">In the period from 1994-1997 I presented five sessions (of one hour duration each) to the National Radio of Omdurman within the programme of <em>Sahra Thaqaafiyya. <\/em>This is in addition to numerous short interviews and sessions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">In the period 1995-1998 I presented a number of sessions to the National Sudanese Television, whose duration ranged from 10 minutes (<em>min al-Khartuum Salaam<\/em>) to two hours live (<em>Mushwaar al-Misaa\u2019<\/em>).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">In June 1999, a journalist from the BBC London (a Hausa speaker) conducted a one-hour interview with me in Khartoum in Hausa. The subject matter of the interview relates to the social, cultural and linguistic changes the West African \u2013 particularly Hausa \u2013 communities in the Sudan have undergone. Five sessions of 10-minute length each were broadcast from the Hausa Section of BBC, whereas a half an hour-session was prepared out of the above material and broadcast in English within the widely popular BBC programme: <em>Africa Perspective<\/em>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">In 2000 I recorded a one-hour interview by National Sudanese TV on the relationship between the Nubians on the Nile and in the Nuba Mountains.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">In January 2002, I was invited by the National Sudanese TV for two sessions (45 minutes each) discussion on the relationship between language and culture (the first with Ambassador Agnes Likudu and the second with the then State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Chol Deng).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">In 2004, I recorded 3 sessions (2 hours each) for the National Sudanese TV on the origins, history, culture and folklore of the Fulani tribe in Africa (transmitted repeatedly at least 4 times). The moderator was Graham Abd al-Qadir.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">In 2005 I recorded 3 sessions (30-45 minutes each) National Sudanese TV on different aspects of language and culture in the Sudan and in Africa in general.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">In 2008, I recorded a two-hour programme for Shrook TV (within the then monthly programme \u2018<em>al-Sawaa<sup>c<\/sup>id al-Baydaa<\/em>\u2019 (the helpful arms)) the on my career and contribution to the society service in my area of specialization.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">In 2012, I recorded 4 sessions (one hour each) for the National Radio Omdurman (within the weekly programme \u2018<em>Manazil al-Qamar<\/em>\u2019 (the moon zodiac) presented by Rawda Al-Haj).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">In September 2013, I was invited by the International TV Al-Shurook to record 2 secessions (2 hours each) for the programme \u201c<em>Sufar<\/em><em>\u00aa\u2019 al-Ma<sup>c<\/sup><\/em><em>\u00aani<\/em>\u201d (Ambassadors of the Word) moderated by Rawda Al-Haj.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">In 2018, I was invited by the journalist, Abd al-Bagi al-Zafir (together with Dr. Ahmed Ilyas and Prof. Muntasir Ibrahim), at TV Omdurman for a programme on languages, ethnicities and DNA.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">This is in addition to programmes and interviews at the Blue Nile TV (twice), Blue Nile State TV, Borno State (Maiduguri \u2013 Nigeria) TV (I cannot remember their dates), and interview by the Nigerian national TV, Abuja, in 2019.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">I have been for a long time contributing with articles and interviews in the Sudanese daily newspapers on various topics pertaining to language, culture and peace in Sudan and in Africa in general.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>While in Germany I was the host of the Hausa section of Deutsche Welle (Voice of Germany) twice.
